North American Palladium Limited - Company Upadate
THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO--The Board of Directors of North American
Palladium Ltd. (TSE & NASDAQ), announced today that C.D.
McDoulett, Jr., President and CEO, will retire effective August 1,
1997 for health reasons. Mr. McDoulett suffered an illness last
fall from which he has been recovering. Mr. McDoulett said that
the combination of job requirements and travel between Tulsa and
Thunder Bay was hindering his recovery and not in the best
interest of his health. Mr. McDoulett has been a director of the
Company since 1991 and was instrumental in bringing the Lac des
Iles mine into full operation. The Board extends its best wishes
to Mr. McDoulett in his retirement and hopes to see his health
improve as a result thereof.
The Board also announced that Michael P. Amsden has been elected
President to succeed Mr. McDoulett until a permanent replacement
is recruited. Mr. Amsden is a retired senior mining executive
from Falconbridge with over 30 years mining experience. He has
bee a director of the Company since 1995.
