North American Palladium Ltd. - Scoping Study Update

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO--(TSE-PDL) North American Palladium Ltd. is 
pleased to announce that the recent Scoping Study to increase 
production at the Lac des Iles Mine has shown positive results.  A
budget of $1.5 million dollars for further diamond drilling and 
metallurgical testing has been approved to confirm geological 
resources and mining reserves.  Program results will be reviewed 
by the Board in the 3rd Quarter and a decision will be made at 
that time whether or not to proceed with a full Feasibility Study.


The Board is pleased to announce that Richard Sutcliffe, PhD 
Geology, has joined the Board of Directors.  Dr. Sutcliffe's 
expertise provides a proven resource for the project. 

North American Palladium Ltd., through its wholly owned subsidiary
Lac des Iles Mines Ltd. operates Canada's only primary PGM mine 
and is the world's largest open pit PGM producer.
